FORKERS EXPERIENCE FOR DAY 2

CIP @ Krobei: My thoughts and feelings
It was a tiring but enjoyable day. There were many tasks to complete and we were very co-operative. Our group’s educational package was fun and all the students participated actively in the activities. We taught them the alphabets and numbers. We also taught them simple words and the students were clever enough to spell them correctly. We taught them songs and games like ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’, hokey pokey and ‘Simon says’. It was interesting interacting with the students. To improve the school’s facilities, we (Group F) helped out in the painting of classroom walls, removing the tables, sweeping the floor and distributing the donations. It was pleasant to see smiles blooming on the children’s faces. Through this, we felt the importance of making a difference in a person’s life.
Visit to the Night Market
The night market was still alive with shop owners willing to sell their products. The lighting was very colorful and there were many foreign visitors there. When we want to buy things, we find that it was quite tedious to bargain with the shop owners. However, as leaders, we should be persistent and convincing. We also realized that when we go and bargain as a group, we tend to get the products at a cheaper price. Overall, it was a new experience as we cannot see this kind of hustle and bustle in common night markets in Singapore.
